The majority of "Seed" which is sown overseas IS the Word of God, in the form of Bibles and Christian literature. However, through the years SEED has sent such things as a treadle sewing machine, packed in several boxes; grape juice has been sent for the Lord's supper; eyeglasses; and even in one case, literal seed was sent. Clothing is sent on an 'as needed' basis. Orphanages are particularly supported in India and Africa. SEED's giving is focused overseas on Sabbath Keepers, regardless of specific denominational ties; however, occasionally, a request will be
received from a non-believer or someone of a different faith. Of course, it is a real blessing to be able to respond to that person with whatever materials are needed. In the recent past, a Pakistani man, a Muslim, converted to Christianity after completing The Searchlight Bible Study Course.
 
On the domestic front, SEED serves a large prison population through its prison ministries. Bibles, Christian literature and Bible Study Courses are sent into prisons throughout the United States. SEED offers four courses: The Searchlight; The Discovery Course; Basic Lessons About Salvation; and A Study in John. This ministry is essential since Islam and other religions are being promoted in our domestic prisons and winning converts. The darkness in other lands is no darker than the darkness of our own. Both represent fertile fields for the sowing of the gospel and the harvest of precious souls for the Kingdom of God.

SEED publishes a newsletter called "THE SOWERS' REPORT" more or less, quarterly. (Recently, because of a lack of donations, it was not feasible to publish it as frequently or consistently, we apologize!) In it, you will find statistics of materials sent and report on the progress or needs of our foreign brethren. It also includes a study of some kind or an editorial plus anecdotes or articles of interest to our readers.
 
There are many ministries that vie for our attentive and faithful giving. In no way does SEED wish to denigrate those ministries. Elder Earl Lewis is fond of saying that it is amazing how much can get done when you don't worry who gets the credit.
